Pearl Koven is a public policy and communications specialist based in Sacramento, California. Raised by a single mother, she learned early on the value of resilience, hard work, and community support. After a seven-year career in the film industry, she found her true calling in public service.
As a first-generation transfer student who journeyed from Santa Monica College to UC San Diego, Pearl experienced firsthand how higher education can rewrite a person's life story — a transformative experience that continues to fuel her passion for opening doors for others.
Today, Pearl serves as a staffer in the California State Senate, working in communications, policy research, and constituent services. Her career spans federal, state, and local government — including roles with the U.S. House of Representatives and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors — giving her a 360-degree perspective on how policy moves from Capitol halls to local communities.
